Under the name Retail Furniture Dealers Association of America, the organization that became National Home Furnishings Association (NHFA) officially forms.​ Notably, the organization was formed during the Spanish Flu.
The organization that became Home Furnishings Independents Association (HFIA) was formed with help from the national organization.
The first official publications dedicated specifically to association members were launched.
The first meeting of the Furniture Retailers Association, which became the Western Home Furnishings Association (WHFA) was held.
First Group Insurance Program approved and made available to the membership.
Southern Home Furnishings Association (SHFA) becomes NHFA’s first affiliated organization.
First All-Industry Home Furnishings Conference held.
Next Generation Now (NGN), organization to perpetuate family business, is founded.
NHFA celebrates the opening of the Retailer Resource Center® in High Point’s International Home Furnishings Center.
The first financing program for members was introduced and continues to be one of the most utilized benefits of the association.
Las Vegas Furniture Market opens with a state-of-the-art Retailer Resource Center® hosted by the Western Home Furnishings Association.
Merger of the big 3 Associations; NHFA, WHFA, HFIA created the singular Home Furnishings Association.
HFA proudly celebrates 100 years of serving home furnishings retailers.
