HFA Announces 2016 ROTY Winners

High Point, NC, April 16, 2016 — The Home Furnishings Association (HFA) is proud to announce the winners of its 2016 Retailer of the Year award, which celebrates the outstanding achievements and progressive leadership of the Association’s home furnishings retailers.

David and Joey Gunn, the father-and-son team behind Knight Furniture in Sherman, TX are the HFA Retailers of the Year in the category of businesses with a sales volume under $10 million. Knight Furniture is a 103-year-old full-line furniture and bedding store in its fourth generation of family ownership. The Gunns operate two locations in North Central Texas with an extensive assortment of top brand names, guaranteed low prices, and small-town hospitality. Knight Furniture’s customers have named the retailer the Best Place to Buy Furniture for the last decade.

C.S. Wo & Sons in Honolulu, HI is the HFA Retailer of the Year in the category of businesses with a sales volume of $10 million or above. Michael Wo represents a very involved third-generation of family members who’ve grown the store their grandfather started in 1909 to a retail empire that includes C.S. Wo & Sons, HomeWorld Furniture, SlumberWorld, Ashley HomeStore, and Red Knot. C.S. Wo & Sons is #76 among the nation’s Top 100 Furniture Retailers because it consistently enhances customers’ lives through innovation, continuous improvement, exceptional values and ultimate customer experience.

The Gunns and the Wos will be recognized and celebrated at the 2016 Home Furnishings Association’s Retailer of the Year awards gala, May 22 at the annual Home Furnishings Networking Conference in Long Beach, CA.

HFA members in good standing were nominated by members of the home furnishings industry based on their exemplary service to the industry and to their communities and for providing an exceptional customer experience in their store. A selection committee, comprised of members of HFA’s Board of Directors; HFA members; manufacturers; service providers/suppliers; and members of the industry media, reviewed the nominations.
