Registration opens for fall High Point Market

The High Point Market Authority has opened online registration for the Fall 2020 High Point Market, scheduled for Oct. 13-21. The authority is also debuting a microsite, www.highpointmarket.org/hpmktsafe, to outline safety measures pertaining to the fall market in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Previously announced as a 9-day market as the first part of the #HPMKTsafe Initiative, this revised structure will allow for social distancing and expected reduced capacity requirements within buildings and showrooms. During the registration process, domestic buyers and industry guests will select their primary attendance period based on the designated region for the home state of their company’s headquarters. The Home Furnishings Association’s Resource Center will be open throughout the market. The debut of the #HPMKTsafe Initiative microsite is the second part in the authority’s master safety plan. The site outlines registration details, begins to overview the overall safety measures that will address health and safety onsite during Market, and shares a detailed preparation plan for attendees, encouraging all to plan ahead for a safe, efficient and productive Market experience. A separate page with specific information for exhibitors is also part of the site.

Market plans will be updated as necessary

As planning progresses, the microsite will be updated regularly with additional details. In coordination with local and state health officials, more specific guidelines for exhibitors, staff and attendees will be shared closer to Market so the most up-to-date information on the status of the pandemic can be considered.

“With the industry feeling the effects of pent-up demand for residential furnishings, access to High Point Market exhibitors and their product offerings this October will be crucial for retailers and designers,” commented Tom Conley, president and CEO of the High Point Market Authority. “Our proactive efforts to implement safety measures in advance and onsite during Market are a critical component of our fall market plan. Keeping the health of our industry and community a top priority, we will continue to revise and revisit the tenets of our plan to ensure we are meeting or exceeding all suggested and mandated guidelines this fall.”

Attendees are encouraged to register in advance at www.highpointmarket.org/register to receive their passes in the mail prior to Market, as onsite registration options will be minimized. All registrations completed by Oct. 2. Registrants will have their passes mailed in advance. New buyers must pre-register by Oct. 9 in order to be approved in advance of Market.
