Emily is the Director of Sustainability for Top 100’s Room & Board. Since its beginning in 1980, sustainable practices have been fundamental to Room & Board. They aspire to be a sustainability leader that positively impacts society and the world. Room & Board is purchasing 85% sustainably sourced wood (aiming for 100% by 2025). They are committed to designing and sourcing products more sustainably through improved materials and practices.
Caitie Smithe – Merchandising Project Manager, Walter E Smithe Furniture
Caitie is the Merchandising Project Manager, Creative Lead, & Sustainability lead, and a designer at Walter E. Smithe Furniture & Design, her family’s fourth-generation retail business with stores in the Chicago area, northwest Indiana, and Naples, FL. Caitie is the Vice Chair of the Sustainable Furnishings Council’s Board of Directors and is a graduate of the University of Colorado’s LEEDS School of Business- which has social responsibility, ethics, and sustainability as hallmarks of its curriculum.

Scarlette Tapp is the Executive Director of the Sustainable Furnishings Council. The Sustainable Furnishings Council is the premier sustainability resource for the home furnishings industry, providing suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and designers with the tools, education, and information needed to enhance transparency and reduce environmental and health impacts. We envision a world where home furnishings are created, sold, and delivered without harming the environment or human health.
