[High Point, 2/5/2024] – Today, the Home Furnishings Association (HFA) announced that Shannon Williams will be its next Chief Executive Officer effective June 1, 2024.
Williams succeeds current CEO Mark Schumacher, who announced his intent to step down from his role last year. She has worked for the HFA since 2018 in a number of roles, most recently as its Chief Operating Officer. As the new CEO, the HFA will continue to collaborate with diverse stakeholders to strengthen the home furnishings ecosystem, ensuring a prosperous future for our industry and the association,” Williams said.
HFA Board President Matt Schultz shared confidence in the transition, saying, “Ms. Williams brings a rich business background and association knowledge that will help the HFA adapt to meet the industry needs and ensure we continue to serve furniture retailers and other stakeholders. We thank Mr. Schumacher for his work during the tumultuous economic turns of the past few years.”
Schumacher shared, “I am excited about the board’s decision to elevate Shannon to CEO. She is a gifted and highly skilled executive who possesses all the abilities needed to lead HFA and our industry in the years ahead.”
