Show Me St. Louis is a mid-morning television show capturing the pulse of the city. On a recent episode, Mueller Furniture was highlighted as HFA’s Retailer of the Year (under 50 employees), showcasing their values and dedication to the community.
With a legacy dating back to 1927, Mueller Furniture’s current leader, Mark Mueller, emphasizes the importance of staying relevant in today’s market to honor their nearly century-long history.

Their relevance was what stood out to the judges this year and comes from Mueller’s disciplined focus on their four core values which are proudly worn on their sleeves and the foundation of all they do. Whether operationally behind the scenes, in their engagement with customers, or in how they support their community, the four indelible values are truthfulness in all things, serving others before self, if I say it, do it, and extreme competence. Inherent in those values are integrity, transparency, and authenticity.
Mark Mueller added to the celebration with a ribbon-cutting of their newest Mueller Furniture 55,000 square foot showroom in Fairview Heights which will also serve as a distribution center for all of Mueller Furniture’s locations.

It’s no surprise that Mueller’s Furniture uses this HFA honor as a new jump bar. Mark Meuller told me that the Retailer of the Year Award has set a new standard for the company, and everything must escalate from here. It doesn’t mean this award, or any core value, automatically makes a business successful. Instead, it shows that hard work and focus can lead to great things.
